OPEN RESOURCE HUB

Central to the OS’s mission has always been not only the building and development but also the archiving, organization, and dissemination of tools and resources. So frequently in this age of over saturation the challenge we face is not the lack of solutions but a stultifying overwhelm as to where to find this information, and how to parse the volume and veracity of data constantly swarming our consciousness.

As part of the consideration of what will support us as we move into a time of potential system collapse, the OS looks holistically at the human system vis-a-vis its resource flows, including time, labor, and both concrete and conceptual materials. To think about the work of system analysis and building is to not separate the hours it takes to research the political, ecological, somatic and other tools necessary to survive this time from the project of creating and disseminating materials of an artistic or literary nature; when our bodies / systems are overwhelmed and depleted, our resources being used inefficiently, there is less left for the building of new models and systems, and adding labor to efforts like those the OS models where we are becoming our own sys-admins, so to speak.

Which means that part of this project has always been the creation / concretization of tools derived from the intelligence of this experiment, in the form of open tools and templates, as well as the collection, organization, and dissemination of resources for those for whom the act of parsing data becomes so overwhelming as to consume energy and labor that could be put to positive use. It is ultimately an act of redistribution and intentional infrastructure reallotment.

This guide is currently in the process of being reorganized and in part moved over to the OS Open Access Archive for easy search and download — in addition to being the permanent home of our OPEN PROJECT TOOLS (essentially blueprint instructions to every part of the OS’s operations, from design to distribution, protocols and agreements, media strategy, and beyond), the HUB has long been the site for our extensive PEOPLE’S RESISTANCE RESOURCES, P2P and DECENTRALIZED ORGANIZING tools, OPEN ACCESS PUBLISHING TOOLS from the Radical Open Access Collective we’ve long been a member of, and more.

The PEOPLE’S RESISTANCE RESOURCES section is where you’ll find a wide collection of SYLLABI, READING LISTS and OTHER MEDIA, ACTION TOOLS, STRATEGIES, PROJECT MATERIALS, WORKBOOKS and more — we’re in the process of moving our extensive holdings into topic areas including CLIMATE AND ECOLOGY;ABOLITION, ANTIRACISM and EQUITY; COMMUNITY ORGANIZING, VOTING AND POLITICAL ENGAGEMENT; DISABILITY AND ACCESS; CITIZEN HEALTH AND COLLECTIVE CARE;MUTUAL AID & SOLIDARITY andTECH FOR REVOLUTION.
